Children play in Abeche eastern Chad. The area has been the source of instability for many months as the Darfur conflict spills over into neighbouring Chad. Sudanese rebels clash against Ex Sudanese rebels and Chadian Government soldiers in a combined "multinational force". 2007
The Sudanese Refugee Camp Djamal home to over 20,000 for the past 2 years. They are now neighbours to an additional 10,000 Chadians across the valley who are displaced by recent janjaweed attacks in southern Chad. 2007

This was the scene of much fighting in late 2006 and currently the town is tense being surrounded by rebel forces and the FUC army which controls the town is suffering from many defections from its higher-ranking officers. Hussein Issa 26 a soldier in the Chadian army recovers in Abeche hospital from bullet wounds sustained in a battle in eastern Chad. Much of his intestines were destroyed and he will now have a colostomy. 2007

Multinational forces soldiers made up of ex SLA, ex JEM and Chadian Government soldiers storm through the village of Adre during an attack on the town the result was 7 dead and 8 injured. MSF vehicles were rushing to the hospital in a lull in the fighting to attend to the injured. 2007
Kadija Naite 35 lies with her daughter Miriam after the attacks on Adre on 1st Feb 2007. She has a piece of shrapnel in her right eye and needs to be evacuated to N'djamena for treatment. The metal is close to her arteries and brain and although she will be blind its is hoped she will survive the operation by the French military in the capital. 2007

A villager tried to rebuild her home from the remains of the villages bordering Adre Eastern Chad. The town was attacked by Sudanese rebels on the 1st Feb soldiers were injured and 50 killed. more than 40 civilians were killed or injured in the attacks. 2007

He refused to have his leg amputated against the doctors recommendations as custom dictates that without a leg you may as well be dead. Therefore he waits in hospital while his foot gets steadily more infected. He was recruited by the SLA at the age of 9 in the camps in Sudan and wanted to fight for 3 years. This was his first mission. 2007
